Alms in Luang Prabang

20130323_063707_7D_IMG_19819
From Siem Reap, Cambodia, we flew to Luang Prabang, Laos, and spent 5 days there.  It is a very photogenic city, and one morning, we got up early to see the Buddhist monks collecting alms.

Banteay Srei, Preah Khan and Preah Ko

20130318_080022_G12_IMG_5748
The day after visiting Angkor Thom and Wat, our guide drove us further from Siem Reap to three more temple sites.  We left some of the crowds behind, as bikes and tuk-tuks didn’t venture that far out.  Banteay Srei was our first stop.  While the section below looks like a ruin, it originally had a wooden roof, which has rotted away since the 10th century.

Collection: Dogs

We are dog people.  We were in dog withdrawal on our trip, so any time we saw a dog, our eyes—and cameras—gravitated towards it.   We ended up with a lot of pictures of dogs.  Well, “a lot” is relative; we only have 231 pictures of dogs, which is less than one per day, and half a percent of all of our pictures.  And two-thirds of those aren’t worth posting.  Some regions had more dogs than others, and some simply had more photogenic dogs.  We thought we’d break the pictures out by region.

Map and Itinerary Update

20121114_070118_310HS_IMG_2389
We’ve updated the existing map page, and posted a new page with our corrected itinerary (accessible from the links along the top of the page), including links to posts from each location, travel method, and accommodation.  Primarily this will be useful to the two of us for reference, but there’s no reason not to make it publicly visible.  It certainly highlights where we fell behind with updates (about one month in!), and how many locations we still need to post about--or at the very least, post pictures for.
